Ingredients
  

  • 12 oz 340g pasta (penne, rigatoni, or rotini)
  • 2 cups cooked chicken shredded or diced
  • 2 cups broccoli florets lightly steamed
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp dried basil optional
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes optional, for heat
  • 1 cup bread crumbs for topping
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions
 

  • Preheat & Prepare: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish and set aside.
  • Cook the Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the pasta until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  • Make the Sauce: In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Add garlic and cook until fragrant. Stir in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes until lightly golden. Slowly whisk in the milk and heavy cream, stirring constantly until the sauce thickens.
  • Add Cheese & Seasonings: Reduce heat to low and stir in 1 1/2 cups mozzarella, Parmesan cheese, onion powder, basil, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Stir until melted and smooth.
  • Assemble the Bake: In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked pasta, shredded chicken, and steamed broccoli. Pour the cheese sauce over the mixture and toss to coat evenly.
  • Transfer & Top: Transfer the mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it out evenly. Sprinkle with the remaining 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese.
  • Add Crunchy Topping: In a small bowl, mix bread crumbs with olive oil. Sprinkle over the top of the pasta bake for a crispy finish.
  • Bake: Place the dish in the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly.
  • Serve & Enjoy: Let the bake cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley or extra Parmesan if desired.
