Prepare the Cake
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking pan.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
- In a large bowl, mix the melted butter and sugar until well combined. Add the eggs and vanilla, beating until smooth.
- Stir in the sour cream and mashed bananas until fully incorporated.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool completely before frosting.
Make the Frosting
- In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese and butter until smooth and creamy.
- Gradually add the powdered sugar, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in the vanilla extract and mix until fluffy. If needed, add 1-2 tablespoons of milk to reach the desired consistency.
- Spread the frosting evenly over the cooled cake.
- Garnish with crushed walnuts and banana slices. (optional)
